For electric actuators, verify that the electrical terminal compartment has remained dry and that the local handwheel engages smoothly with the manual declutch lever. Photograph the manufacturer serial nameplate, wiring diagram tag, and overall assembly.

Flange protection, packaging, and freight handling

Actuators must be secured upright or flat on hardwood pallets with heavy timber dunnage. Electrical conduit entries and pneumatic ports must be sealed with threaded plastic plugs. Never allow actuators to rest on delicate limit switch boxes, positioner linkages, or handwheels. Wrap complete units in heavy stretch wrap.
